I have notice as probably most of you have, that Christmas starts coming earlier and earlier each year. Well the season not the actual day, but my point is why? Do the companies think their consumers are so mentally handicapped that we won't buy their product if it doesn't have some mentioning of Christmas on it? Don't you think that one month is long enough to buy presents and decorations? I can remember when the Christmas season started on black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving and that wasn't so bad. Christmas got an extra week of advertising. Now the companies have pushed Christmas all the way up to the fist week of November. You can especially see this in a Walmart or any other large company, the day after Halloween it became Christmas. The billboards went up the decorations are on display and of course you can buy the plastic Christmas tree that rotates. Do we really need two months to prepare for one Holiday? What happen to Christmas being about family and friends? Sure the presents kick ass, but that's not what the holiday is about. These companies are just wanting to pull ever last cent they can out of you before the season even starts. Give it another year or two, we'll be hearing "Christmas Don't Be Late" the day after Independence Day.
